Police said a "predator" has been arrested on suspicion of kidnapping an eight-year-old girl from her bedroom.
Officers said a man opened an unlocked window before reaching in and grabbing the child last Monday.
As the suspect fled with the girl, she scratched him and screamed for help, which alerted her father.
The suspect left the girl in an alley behind her home in Aurora, Colorado, and the father saw the kidnapper drive away.
The alleged abductor has been named as 26-year-old John Stanley Snorsky.
He has been charged with first and second-degree burglary and second-degree kidnapping after being arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of violating parole on an unrelated charge.
During the course of the week, investigators collected almost 200 leads from the public about the alleged kidnapping.
And on Friday, police were able to gather enough evidence to charge Snorsky, Investigative Division Chief Rob Oates said.
"We have this predator off the streets," Mr Oates said, adding that police were continuing to collect information from the public about Snorsky "so we can learn more about him".
Police praised the eight-year-old victim, saying she was "a brave young lady".
She described her kidnapper so police could come up with an e-fit.
She was not seriously hurt in the kidnapping.
