A lorry driver has had a lucky escape after being trapped when the coastal highway he was travelling on collapsed in Mexico.
Gabriel Gonzalez Cuevas' vehicle was carrying 36 tons of cement and it was too heavy to drive away after the tarmac broke up.
However, several other lorries behind him were able to leave the area by reversing.
He said he waited hours before heavy machinery arrived to deal with the incident and then authorities ordered him to leave because of safety concerns.
He was able to walk away uninjured.
The road, which connects Ensenada and Tijuana, collapsed near Salsipuedes around 2am local time on Saturday.
The highway remains closed and the Ensenada municipal president has reportedly said repairs could take over a year.
The area was struck by an earthquake in the middle of December but officials have not revealed what caused the road collapse.
