A couple have appeared in court after a 13-year-old boy reported missing four years ago was found by police behind a false wall in their US home.
The boy's father and stepmother, Gregory Jean and Samantha Davis, were denied bail as they appeared on Sunday morning to answer charges of obstruction, false imprisonment and cruelty to children.
Three juveniles were also arrested when police visited the home in a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The boy's mother, who reportedly lives in Florida, had a tearful reunion with her son hours after he was rescued from the house on Duke Court, Jonesboro.
The boy's father had allegedly refused to return him to his mother after a visit in 2010.
The mother is an immigrant who reported the unnamed boy missing to child welfare authorities, but not to the police, according to local media.
Police first visited the house late on Friday night to look for the boy after receiving a tip-off, but could not find him after a search of the property.
The home's occupants had denied all knowledge of a missing boy, said Clayton County Police.
Officers returned in the early hours of Saturday to carry out another search after the boy's biological mother provided them with specific information.
Police said the boy was found "frozen with fear" behind a panel in a linen closet in the garage.
He had recently been able to make contact with his mother after downloading a messaging app on to a mobile phone, reports WSBTV.
